About the Artist

William Crozier‍ ‍Sculptor (b.1942)

"I hope to capture a spark of life through the push and pull of clay."

In the quiet of the studio, in the presence of the model, William Crozier has been making art for over a half century.

He was trained in traditional methods during a quintessentially untraditional time. The path of Crozier’s work begins in the excitement of the 1960s: sexual revolution, political change, protest, and defiance.

William Crozier's meticulous attention to proportion and anatomy provides the underpinning for his masterful expressions of movement and raw emotion.

Always striving for what he calls "the spark of life," Crozier pushes clay to its limits, resulting in sculptures that challenge convention. Through the vehicle of the figure, Crozier explores the intangible, timeless themes of longing, desire, conflict, and interaction.
