About the Artist
Arthur Carter Sculptor (1931-2025)
“The engraving on my ring reads, 'Non nobis solum', Latin for 'not for ourselves, alone'. We should work for the good of all people.”
Arthur Carter’s work as a sculptor incorporates wood, clay, and copper wire, which often evolve into larger constructions in a variety of more permanent materials. His works are on permanent public display in New York City, Washington, D.C., California, and Connecticut.
Carter’s constructions may have taken months to complete, but they all began with three simple tools: a sketch pad, a straightedge, and a compass.
